Accounting Manager 
  • Reporting to the VP/Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee the AR and AP staff and their responsibilities, including mentoring, hiring, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate the month-end closing procedures for all entities and review accounts for accuracy. 
  • Record and approve monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare consolidated financial reports monthly and as required.
  • Initiate bank wires, manage ACH templates, manage stop payments, positive pay upload files, and other banking related activity as necessary.
  • Prepare, analyze, and calculate broker commissions due on a monthly or quarterly basis.  
  • Review weekly check runs for accuracy and management of vendor payments as necessary. 
  • Review all new vendor applications and manage vendor credit limits.
  • Manage and maintain third party relationship with enVista related to reporting and problem resolution of freight issues.
  • Manage employee expense reports in Concur, approvals, payment processing, recording.
  • Coordinate and gather requirements for tax returns (i.e. franchise, property, sales and use).
  • Prepare additional financial reporting and analysis.
  • Review or prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assure internal control compliance and train staff on internal control procedures.
  • Support quarterly and annual financial audits, including preparation of analysis, supporting schedules, and source documentation. 
  • Ensure spending is correctly accounted for in accordance with GAAP.
  • On a period basis, identify significant variances, research and document explanations. Summarize and communicate findings to management for period close analytics.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies related to area of responsibility.
  • Perform daily A/R or A/P responsibilities as a back up to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
  • Work with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Accounting Manager manages all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring within these functions.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus five years of accounting experience.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
  • Experience in manufacturing or CPG industry preferred.
