Irving client sees to add a Canadian Benefits Analyst, responsible for Canadian benefit related activities associated with employees.  This position will be a member of a team that supports payroll, tax compliance, HR administration, contract administration, and reporting.   

  • Supervise and assists with operational practices and controls within Benefit Administration in accordance with strategies, practices and guidelines:
    • Ability to interpret different benefit eligibility rules and how it applies to the retiree
    • Review and document benefit calculations for payroll
    • Supervise and assist with the retiree processes
    • Support Labor Relations with requests and contract negotiations
    • Supervise the administration of the Canadian benefit plans
      • Reporting
      • Answer questions from employees regarding benefit offerings and eligibility
      • Review and update communications
      • Supervise and assist with disability management.
      • Assist with Wellness strategies
      • Plan document review and updates
      • Coordinate responses for audit queries and valuations
  • Designs and implements benefit programs meant to attract and retain employees.
    • Conducts research and analysis of industry trends, employee surveys and workplace best practices in order to design benefits packages that are competitive, meet employee needs, and support organizational goals.
    • Reviews cost and usage rates of existing benefit programs to assess actual and perceived value.
    • Researches and evaluates third-party benefits vendors; may participate in selection and implementation of providers.
    • Assists in benefits communications and open enrollment. Answers questions from employees regarding benefits offerings and eligibility.
    • Ensures offerings comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with Employee Services processes, policies, systems, and practices established to maintain key controls and maximize operational efficiencies
  • Demonstrate knowledge related to company policies and Canadian regulations in connection with respective Benefit Administration activities
  • Expected to build relationships and work productively with team members, internal customers and third parties to ensure communication is open and there is a basis of understanding for the respective service / program
  • Maintain records in accordance with departmental guidelines to support plan and/or mandated audits of prior year information
  • Support business requirements and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form
  • Participate in special projects and/or corporate initiatives as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Support other areas of Employee Services as needed to meet organization goals
Who we are looking for:
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in benefits administration and detailed oriented corporate environment
  • High School diploma
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products:  Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours weekly as needed
  • Must have good organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, attention to detail and be a successful team player
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
