Cost Accountant / Cost Accounting Manager

Are you a Cost Accountant or Cost Accounting Manager with experience in a manufacturing setting and have an eye for detail and enjoy taking initiative and understanding the "why"? CRG has a small food manufacturing client in the Dallas area with plans to double sales over the next few years. Our client is seeking a Cost Accountant or Management level individual to join their team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the Company's accounting/finance department. Responsibilities will include accounting, reporting, and financial analysis of inventory levels and costs (standard to actual), work-in process (WIP), manufacturing and material (PPV) variance reporting, and pricing. Responsibilities:
  • Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods
  • Responsible for item management and BOM
  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits and monitoring standard versus actual costs
  • Examine and review unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly
  • Proactively identifies cost savings opportunities within the manufacturing and distribution cycle
  • Reconcile inventory system to the general ledger and all balance sheet transactions as needed
  • Monitor system controls; interfaces and sets proper guidelines for the financial software to ensure integrity of inventory valuation
  • Provide month end sales, cost and gross margin analysis and research issues
  • Provide Management with useful information to use in their analysis of profit margin
  • Utilize analytical tools and complex Excel spreadsheets to track costs
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years performing cost accounting in a manufacturing and production company
  • Advanced Excel skills (macros, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Access skills / data mining in SQF database is preferred
  • Proficient in Accounting Software. Experience with AccountMate software is highly preferred
  • Database management (SQL) is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask well
  • Very detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask well
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
