Are you an Auditor/Advisory practice Senior within a Big 4 firm or similar and motivated for a transition to a corporate accounting role offering growth and challenge in a flexible environment? CRG is working with a Dallas based business advisory firm looking to add a Manager of Accounting to its growing corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger and revenue cycle activities and overseeing accounting staff. The ideal profile for this position is a Senior in an Auditor/Advisory practice within Big 4 or other similar public accounting firm and experience with SEC reporting clients or PE backed clients preferred, but not required. What you will get to do:
Oversee general ledger account reconciliation to ensure all transactions have been properly accounted for.
Manage the monthly revenue accounts to ensure revenue is recognized at the appropriate time and management is informed of progress. Manage monthly account reconciliations escalating any issues, as necessary. Ensure a thorough understanding of the underlying processes and inputs. Manage revenue adjustments to ensure all entries are complete, logical, and accurate. Monitor processes within the system to facilitate the monthly revenue processes. Perform audits to ensure compliance, as required.
Provide reporting to Lenders on established schedules.
Responsible for leading general accounting tasks related to monthly close activities, including journal entries and audit preparation.
Maintain various balance sheet accounts, including prepaids.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and accounting duties.
May be required to perform billing and accounts receivable.
Coordinate third party billing, as required.
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5+ years of experience in accounting environment.
2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
CPA is highly preferred
Big Four or other public accounting experience is preferred
Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
Strong analytical and accounting skills. Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, or similar programs.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
Must be able to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
