Director – Corporate Development (Investment banking and relevant buy-side work required)

We are recruiting a Director of Corporate Development to focus executing add-on acquisitions to our client’s existing portfolio companies and new platform opportunities. This is not a real estate role, though these companies do serve the hospitality real estate end market. Responsibilities will include managing all aspects of the M&A process, providing ongoing portfolio company support, and ad-hoc projects as needed. Candidate is comfortable working independently and directly with all levels of management, and with juggling multiple projects at once. Ideal candidate strengths are organization, financial modeling, creating investment memoranda, analyzing business performance, and an ability to think critically and solve problems.

This position offers competitive compensation and will be the right hand to the Vice President of Portfolio Management and Corporate Development, working very closely together.

Corporate Development Director Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the M&A process including initial opportunity reviews, financial modeling, business, and market due diligence, managing external diligence providers, preparation of investment committee materials, lender communication, etc.
  • Portion of time will be spent on deal sourcing (less than 20%)
  • Develop strong working relationships with the management teams of our portfolio companies
  • Ability to take a large amount of data and analysis and convert into a concise presentation to inform executives
  • Analyze and monitor debt metrics including payment terms, financial covenants, and other restrictions
  • Assist with the preparation of board and investment committee presentations
  • Conduct industry research
  • Ad hoc projects


Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and background:
  • 4+ years of M&A experience (investment banking and relevant buy-side work required)
  • Strong three-statement financial modeling and analytical abilities
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
