Our client, a SaaS technology company, is growing and needs to add a Senior Accountant reporting directly to the CFO. The position will start out as a contract with perm potential (will pay $45/hour to $48/hour depending on experience with a max rate of $50/hour). Our client offers an off-duty platform that organizes the complex relationship between Coordinators, Law Enforcement Agencies, Officers, and their clients. Their technology streamlines every aspect of off-duty, from scheduling to payments.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant will primarily be responsible for assisting the CFO with the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, account analysis and reconciliations, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance. Strong technical accounting skills and ability to quickly adapt, problem solve and determine solutions are essential in supporting our client’s rapid growth.

Responsibilities
- Month-end close with an adherence to a close calendar and GAAP
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- Assist with preparation of board presentations
- Revenue and COSP Accruals
- Prepaid and Deferred Amortization entries in accordance with GAAP
- Account reconciliations (including bank and other balance sheet accounts)
- Assist with annual budget preparation
- Analyze monthly variances to plan for management and investor reporting
- Assist with processing of expenses
- Manage payroll
- Audit prep – creation and maintenance of balance sheet recons / other schedules and gathering of historical bank recons for audit purposes
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting and/ or in an operating company (industry)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite (preferred, but not required)
- Expert user of Excel [including creation of pivot tables, importing and formatting of external data, use of formulas such as vlookup(), xlookup(), sumifs(), sumproduct(), nested IF() statements, match(), index(), etc.
- Structured thinker: Comfort with numbers, details and ambiguity
- Continuous learner with innate curiosity and ability to investigate, analyze and solve problems
- Prior supervision of junior accountants or clerical staff (preferred, but not required)
- High integrity and a passion for the company’s mission
