Lead Revenue Accountant

LEAD REVENUE ACCOUNTANT
Our client, delivering innovative, end-to-end media software and networking solutions to over thousands of customers around the globe including the top broadcast facilities and the most technologically advanced sports and live-event venues seeks to add a Lead Revenue Accountant. The ideal candidate must have ASC 606 experience and will lead a team of 4.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to achieve revenue monthly close and periodic revenue reporting deliverables.
  • Responsible for review of current and pipeline contracts to determine the appropriate ASC 606 revenue recognition treatment.
  • Review month-end reconciliations and journal entries performed by revenue accounting team.
  • Interface with external auditors to manage year-end requests.
  • Collaborate with different corporate functional teams to align revenue recognition principles across the organization.
  • Communicate with stakeholders from business unit finance team members to senior finance executives.
  • Lead and manage revenue accounting execution teams in day-to-day revenue recognition accounting and reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc management related requests and analysis.
Qualifications
  • The position requires a highly motivated individual working with the business to understand our product and service offerings combined with systematic thinking on converting US GAAP requirements (technology industry and ASC 606) into system executions
  • The position requires working closely with the FP&A group to (1) ensure accurate understanding of revenue contracts, (2) identify the correct US GAAP revenue accounting treatment, (3) convert understanding and requirements into executions, and (4) effectively communicate the results with analytical checks and balances while maintaining systems integrity
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA highly desired
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with integrated ERP systems. Our client uses Oracle Fusion as its accounting system, MicroStrategy as its main reporting tool, and RevPro as revenue accounting execution system
  • Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606 (technology industry experience required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with multi-year contracts and multiple performance obligations
  • Demonstrated change agility and the ability to take ownership and drive tasks to completion in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial systems/processes, controls, and ability to translate strategies into financial concepts
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal – ability to deliver a clear, concise message based on audience
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, plan and meet deadlines
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Multi-tasker & organization skills are a must
