The Senior Accountant performs moderately complex accounting activities relating to financial reporting and technical accounting. The Senior Accountant confidently communicates technical information clearly to others and builds relationships with others to actively gather and prepare monthly internal reports, quarterly external reports, annual audits, ad-hoc reports, and technical accounting research. The Senior Accountant has knowledge of US GAAP and consolidations. The Senior Accountant should have, at a minimum, an intermediate experience level in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The Senior Accountant completes special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Prepare monthly reports. These reports present senior leadership with an overview of the monthly operating performance of the consolidated organization and by detail by entity.
Support and prepare annual external audit reports, including footnotes and supporting schedules, which are provided to external auditors.
Prepare quarterly bond disclosure supporting schedules and financial information, which provide debt creditors a periodic update of the organization’s operating performance.
Participate in special projects as necessary. These projects require methodical approaches and a commitment to learning and motivation to be successful.
Increase report and process automation through the maximization of technology. This requires proactive use of technology in finding ways to overcome data obstacles and provide timely information for decision making.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred.
CPA eligible required.
Ability to perform moderately complex accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, etc.
