Senior Accountant/MGR

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring a timely and successful month end close process by handling the more operational processes and procedures within the Accounting department. Will be responsible for assisting Accounting Manager in process improvement across GL, AP, and other operational controls.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring a timely and successful month end close process by handling the more operational processes and procedures within the Accounting department. Will be responsible for assisting Accounting Manager in process improvement across GL, AP, and other operational controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform monthly and quarterly accounting close activities as assigned, including preparation of monthly account reconciliations and roll forwards
- Perform general ledger reconciliations
- Create detailed journal entries for revenue, expenses, cash, AP, accruals, and post them to general ledger
- Ensure all records are accurate and prepared for monthy and quarterly reporting.
- Collaborate with other finance and accounting team members, as well as field personnel, in order to best support the operations of the Company
- Assist in preparation of management reports
- Assist in the development of internal controls and work effectively with team for implementation of related processes
- Assist with continuous review and improvement of accounting practices and procedure
- Interact with and provide information to external auditors during the annual financial audit
- Work on ad hoc projects as necessary
- Initiate and/or complete additional job duties that may be required as a result of the Company’s rapid growth
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Skills and qualifications that assist in efficiently completing this job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
- CPA and/or Master’s in Business, Accounting, would be a plus, but not required
- 2 - 4 years as a Staff, GL or Senior Accountant in corporate world
- Strong knowledge of GL, month end close, AP, and process controls
- Strong desire to improve accounting controls and processes.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- Proficiency in MS Excel required
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics accounting software is preferred
