SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, SEC REPORTING & TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING CRG is partnering with a healthcare industry client in the Atlanta area headquartered near Kennesaw, Marietta, Acworth, etc. in search of adding aSenior Accountant, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to its growing Accounting & Finance team! The Company’s newly appointed CFO is a long-time friend of our firm and a proven leader with a strong record of commercial success in the healthcare industry. We have successfully partnered with him on multiple previous searches. This role will be a hybrid position working in the office Tuesday - Thursday each week.
Position Summary The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and be primarily responsible for the preparation of the Company’s SEC filings and requisite supporting documents underlying such filings. The Senior Accountant will also be heavily involved in researching, opining, and memorializing the appropriate accounting treatment when the Company undergoes a material, non-routine transactions. The Senior Accountant will maintain the Company’s accounting policy document when novel transactions are documented or changes in accounting policy are deemed necessary as a result of issued Accounting Standards Updates or a preferable change. The Senior Accountant prepares periodic and ad hoc business and accounting analyses under the supervision of the Senior Manager of SEC Reporting, as necessary. Key Responsibilities
Prepare the Company’s 10-Q, 10-K, and other external financial reports as required, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC Regulations, XBRL, or other relevant regulatory guidance and maintain support for such filings
Work closely with external auditors to drive audit projects to help achieve completion in a timely fashion
Research, opine, and memorialize the technical accounting treatment for material transactions
Research accounting standards updates, determine applicability to the Company, and determine the necessary steps required to comply with the new standard
Own and maintain the Company’s accounting policy manual
Administer the Company’s stock plan
Devise and implement proprietary, innovative, and automated solutions to complement or replace current manual processes
Collaborate with other departments on an as-needed basis for ad hoc projects from time to time
Qualifications
BS or BA in Accounting or related field
2+ years of relevant experience
CPA eligibility
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
Preference will be given to those candidates who have one or more of the following characteristics:
CPA license
Experience in public accounting, particularly the Big 4
Familiarity with Workiva
Familiarity with QAD
Familiarity with Fidelity Stock Plan Administration
Familiarity with a computer programming language, such as Python or R
